FanCode secures media rights for India-Sri Lanka-South Africa women’s tri-nation ODI series

Cricket fans can catch all the matches on FanCode's mobile app.

FanCode, India’s leading digital sports platform, has obtained exclusive TV and digital rights for the upcoming women’s tri-nation ODI series featuring India, Sri Lanka and South Africa.

The series, which will be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, will begin on April 27, with India facing Sri Lanka in the opening game. The final will be contested on May 11. Every team is going to square off twice, with the top two teams competing in the final.

This is the Indian team’s return to the field after a six-game winning run, and it will include top performers such as skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, Harleen Deol, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Richa Ghosh. Kashvee Gautam has also received her first call-up to the team following some good performances.

India will try to maintain its outstanding run of form, having just lost once in Sri Lanka. They have never lost a series but will face stiff competition from Women’s ODI World Cup semi-finalists South Africa and a powerful Sri Lankan squad, which recently defeated India in the Asia Cup.

Laura Woolvardt will head the South African side, which includes seasoned and uncapped players such as Chloé Tryon, Tazmine Brits, Ayabonga Khaka, Suné Luus, and Nonkululeko Mlaba.

Sri Lanka, the Asia Cup champions, see this competition as a great preparation for the upcoming World Cup. The series will provide an insight into the team’s preparations for the next ICC Women’s World Cup, which will be hosted in India in September-October.

SLC CEO Ashley De Silva, said, “We welcome FanCode as the official broadcaster of the upcoming Women’s Tri-Nation Series for fans. This tournament is a vital opportunity for all participating teams as they prepare for major upcoming challenges, such as the ICC Women’s 50-Over World Cup. It also serves as a significant platform to further promote and uplift women’s cricket in the region.”
