FanCode, India’s leading digital sports platform, has obtained streaming rights for the UIM E1 World Championship presented by PIF, the world’s first all-electric powerboating competition.
The championship will include a prominent, star-studded lineup of team owners from sports, music, and entertainment, notably Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli, who will lead Team Blue Rising in the worldwide series.
Along with Kohli, the competition has a lineup of worldwide luminaries as team owners, notably basketball phenomenon LeBron James (Team AlUla), music producer and DJ Steve Aoki (Aoki Racing Team), National Football League (NFL) veteran Tom Brady (Team Brady), and football player Didier Drogba (Team Drogba). Other celebrity-backed teams include Team Miami powered by Magnus, owned by Latin music giant Marc Anthony, and Team Rafa, which is funded by tennis legend Rafael Nadal. Will Smith, a Hollywood actor, runs Westbrook Racing, while billionaire Marcelo Claure manages Team Brazil by Claure Group.
The UIM E1 World Championship is distinguished not just by its dedication to innovation, but also by its focus on diversity, with mixed-gender pilots drawn from a variety of racing disciplines such as rally, jet ski racing, and Formula 1. These pilots are picked based on their racing abilities after completing the E1 Pilot Academy.
The races will take place in prominent locales across the world, including Jeddah, Miami, Monte Carlo, and Doha, bringing exciting competition and high-energy action to global waterways.
