FanCode has expanded its cricket rights portfolio by securing the exclusive digital streaming rights for the 2026 edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) in India, reinforcing its strategy to build a comprehensive year-round destination for live cricket.

Under the agreement, the Indian digital sports platform will stream every match of the sixth edition of Sri Lanka’s premier franchise T20 competition exclusively on its app and website. Scheduled to run from July 17 to August 8, the tournament will feature five franchises—Jaffna Kings, Colombo Kaps, Kandy Royals, Dambulla Thunders and Galle Titans—alongside a mix of leading Sri Lankan internationals and overseas stars.

The acquisition further strengthens FanCode’s portfolio of international cricket properties as competition for premium live sports rights intensifies in India’s digital streaming market. By adding another established franchise league to its catalogue, the platform aims to sustain cricket fan engagement throughout the calendar beyond marquee events such as the Indian Premier League and bilateral international fixtures.

For the Lanka Premier League, the partnership represents a significant step in expanding its commercial footprint in one of the world’s largest cricket markets. India remains a key audience for the tournament, making digital distribution central to its international growth strategy and efforts to enhance visibility for franchises, players and commercial partners.

Commenting on the partnership, Anil Mohan Sankhdhar, Founder and CEO of IPG Group and official rights holder of the Lanka Premier League, said, “The Indian subcontinent is home to some of the most passionate cricket fans in the world, and expanding our digital footprint here is a major priority for the Lanka Premier League. By joining forces with FanCode, we are guaranteeing a premium, accessible, and highly interactive viewing experience. Their digital-first platform perfectly aligns with our vision to bring millions of fans seamlessly closer to the high-octane T20 action and elite international talent that defines our sixth season.”

Prasana Krishnan, Co-Founder, FanCode, added,“We are delighted to continue our partnership with Lanka Premier League. It has emerged as a highly competitive tournament on the global cricket calendar and further strengthens FanCode’s cricket portfolio. With a mix of Sri Lankan stars and international marquee players, LPL 2026 is set to capture the imagination of Indian cricket fans, and we are delighted to bring them all the action LIVE on FanCode.”

The deal underscores the continued shift towards digital-first consumption of live sport in India, where streaming platforms are increasingly investing in exclusive rights to international cricket properties. For FanCode, the acquisition adds another premium asset to its growing content portfolio, while providing the Lanka Premier League with greater reach, enhanced visibility and deeper engagement in a strategically important overseas market.
