The Indian sports streaming platform, FanCode, has bagged the media rights for the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26 season, which is set to begin on February 14, 2026.
The acquisition adds to FanCode’s burgeoning football portfolio, as the platform continues to focus on top domestic and international sporting brands. With this deal, FanCode will broadcast all ISL matches live on its platform, providing fans with access via mobile, online, and connected TV devices. The agreement intends to increase the league’s digital reach and fan engagement by leveraging FanCode’s tech-driven viewing experience, which includes interactive elements, match highlights, and data-driven analytics.
FanCode’s emphasis on cost and user-centric distribution is expected to help the league attract younger and regional fans, especially as football watching expands beyond conventional broadcast audiences.
AIFF Deputy Secretary General M. Satyanarayan, said, “We are pleased to have concluded the ISL media rights process and to partner with FanCode, one of India’s leading sports platforms. FanCode’s focus on accessibility and fan experience aligns with our objective of expanding the league’s footprint and engaging more football fans across the country.”
FanCode, Co-founder Yannick Colaco, said, “The Indian Super League is a significant addition to FanCode, as it represents the very best of Indian football. With the league’s strong and loyal fan following, we see a big opportunity to elevate how fans experience ISL through reliable, high-quality broadcast and a product designed around modern football audiences. This is in line with Dream Sports group’s overall vision of making sports better.”
According to reports, FanCode has already begun conversations with many television broadcasters to sublicense the linear TV rights for the ISL 2025-26 season in India. According to industry sources, Sony might be one of the prospective partners, particularly as the broadcaster did not participate in the initial procurement process, making a post-tender agreement a viable option for entrance.
The shift also reflects a sharp correction in the ISL’s broadcast economics. While the 2024–25 season was valued at INR 275 crore for 163 matches, translating to INR 1.68 crore per match, the 2025–26 cycle, based on FanCode’s quoted INR 8.62 crore for 91 matches, brings the per-match value down to just INR 9.5 lakh, underlining a significant reset in the league’s broadcast valuation.
Furthermore, KPS Studios has obtained the rights to provide the world feed for this season, with coverage beginning on February 14.
As the Indian top-flight football league prepares for the 2025-26 season, the association with FanCode is expected to play an important role in boosting audience growth, increasing the league’s digital footprint, and promoting Indian football’s long-term commercial development.
