Extreme H has confirmed a multi-year extension of its broadcast partnership with Sony Pictures Networks India, ensuring continued coverage of the FIA Extreme H World Cup in India through the 2028 season.

The renewed agreement grants Sony Pictures Networks India exclusive television and digital rights for the hydrogen-powered racing series across the Indian market. Coverage will include live race broadcasts, highlights shows, and complementary shoulder programming across Sony’s sports channels, alongside streaming availability on Sony LIV.

The extension builds on a relationship first established during Extreme H’s early development phase in 2024 and underlines the championship’s long-term commitment to India as a priority growth market. Both parties have identified strong alignment between India’s expanding motorsport audience and the series’ positioning around clean energy, innovation, and next-generation mobility.

Ali Russell, Managing Director of the FIA Extreme H World Cup, said, “India is one of the most exciting regions in the world for clean mobility vision and innovation, and we are thrilled to extend our partnership with Sony Pictures Networks India through 2028. SPNI’s reach and storytelling expertise have been instrumental in growing our audience, and together we will continue to showcase the power of hydrogen technology and world-class racing to millions of fans.”

Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer and Business Head, Sports and International, Sony Pictures Networks India, added, “Our collaboration with Extreme H has resonated strongly with audiences who are eager for premium motorsport content and inspired by the event’s sustainability mission. We are proud to strengthen this partnership and bring the evolution of hydrogen-powered racing to fans across India for many more seasons.”

Extreme H is the world’s first international off-road racing championship powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology and operates under FIA sanction. The series combines elite competition with a broader mission to demonstrate the viability of hydrogen as a future mobility solution, using motorsport as a high-visibility testing and storytelling platform.

India continues to be a strategically significant territory for the championship, supported by rising interest in global motorsport, growing engagement with technology-driven sport, and increased national focus on clean energy and hydrogen infrastructure development.

The renewed agreement also strengthens Sony Pictures Networks India’s motorsport portfolio, following its previous involvement with Extreme E and ongoing investment in premium international sports properties.

With broadcast continuity secured through 2028, Extreme H and Sony Pictures Networks India are positioned to deliver sustained audience growth in India as the championship enters a key phase of competitive and commercial expansion on the global stage.
