Extramarks signs with Arsenal as learning partner: Reports

Extramarks has joined the list of the Indian companies that have collaborated with the English top-flight teams.

The Indian educational technology company, Extramarks has inked a sponsorship deal with the Premier League outfit, Arsenal, according to SportsMint sources. In this association, the edtech company has been reportedly named as the e-learning partner.

With this agreement, Extramarks has joined the list of the Indian companies that have signed a collaboration with the English top-flight teams. The IT company, HCL has been appointed as the global partner of Manchester United. The tyre manufacturing company, Apollo Tyres is also the official tyre partner of the Red Devils. In 2015, Wipro signed a three year deal with Chelsea. The Indian tyre giant, MRF was also the sleeve sponsor of West Ham United, Newcastle United and West Bromwich.

The Indian companies from the edtech sector have been sponsoring several sports teams from different leagues. upGrad is the knowledge partner of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) team, U Mumba. Byju’s has inked a deal with the Indian Super League (ISL) team, Kerala Blasters and has also been the shirt sponsor of the Indian cricket team since 2019.

Extramarks was founded in 2007 and is headquartered in Noida, India. The company provides online and offline schooling along with an association with 9000 government and private schools. In 2011, the Mukesh Ambani-owned Infotel Broadband acquired a 38.5% stake in Extramarks and the investment was done through an affiliate company, Reliance Strategic Investments. According to the analysts, the edtech company could still obtain a 10% market share by 2025 with a valuation of $7-8 billion.

On the field, the Gunners have occupied the sixth spot on the Premier League points table with 36 points. The team has played 21 matches so far out of which they won 11, lost seven and had a draw thrice. The outfit will be seen next in action on February 11 against Wolves at 1:15 AM IST.
