Everything you need to know about Legends League Cricket 2022

Some of the biggest names in Indian and international cricket will once again step onto the playing field.

Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2022 is scheduled to start today i.e. September 16, India Maharajas will take on World Giants at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata at 7:30 PM IST in a special match.

In the special exhibition game, Virender Sehwag and Jacques Kallis are set to lead India Maharajas and World Giants, respectively. Previously, Sourav Ganguly and Eoin Morgan were expected to oversee the two sides, but both dropped out of the event.

In the main contest, each team will encounter the other three teams twice. The top two teams will advance to the qualifier round. The winning team advances straight to the final, while the losing team will meet the third-place finisher. Some players who are currently competing in the Road Safety World Series 2022 will also compete in the tournament.

The qualifier match of the tournament is slated to take place on October 1 in Jodhpur while the Eliminator will be played on October 3. The final of the competition will be held on October 5.

The first edition of the Legends League Cricket featured three teams – India, Asia, and the Rest of the World. This year’s championship will feature four franchises: India Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Manipal Tigers, and Bhilwara Kings.

India’s premium sports broadcaster, Star Sports, will telecast the competition. Furthermore, all matches will also be streamed live on the network’s OTT platform, Disney+ Hotstar.
