From June 2 to 29, 2024, 20 teams from across six continents will battle it out for the ninth edition of the coveted ICC Men's T20 World Cup trophy.

The stage is set for a historic edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, with the United States and the West Indies co-hosting the cricketing extravaganza.

From June 2 to 29, 2024, a record-breaking 20 teams from across six continents will battle it out for the ninth edition of the coveted T20 World Cup trophy.

The tournament features a unique format with 20 teams divided into four groups of five. Each team will play a minimum of four matches against their group rivals in the initial group stage.

Here’s a breakdown of the groupings:

Group BEngland (defending champions), Australia, Namibia, Scotland, Oman
Group CWest Indies (co-hosts), New Zealand, Afghanistan, Uganda, Papua New Guinea

The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 8s stage, where they’ll be further divided into two groups. Here, each team will play three matches against its new group rivals to determine the finalists. Only the top two teams from each Super 8s group will progress to the much-anticipated semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals will then clash in the grand finale.

A record total of 55 matches will be played across nine picturesque venues, spanning the United States (Florida, New York, Texas) and the West Indies (Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago). Cricket fans can witness the culmination of the tournament on June 29, 2024, at 8:00 PM IST, with the final match being held at the iconic Kensington Oval in Barbados.

The cricketing action commences on June 2, 2024, with co-hosts USA locking horns with Canada in the opening match, scheduled for 6:00 AM IST. Indian fans can gear up to see their team take on Ireland on June 5, 2024, at 8:00 PM IST.

Adding to the excitement, legendary cricketers Shahid Afridi, Yuvraj Singh, Chris Gayle, and iconic sprinter Usain Bolt have been named the official ambassadors for the T20 World Cup.
