For fans in India, Sony Sports Network will air the TATA Mumbai Marathon 2026.

The Tata Mumbai Marathon (TMM), an annual marathon event held in Mumbai, is all set to hold its 21st edition on January 18, 2026.

The Mumbai Marathon is a World Athletics Gold Label road race that will begin at the landmark Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT).

Andre De Grasse of Canada, a seven-time Olympic winner, is the official ambassador for the 21st edition of the Mumbai Marathon. More than 60,000 runners will compete in various categories, notably a record 14,059 runners taking part in the full marathon for the first time.

The Mumbai Marathon 2026 also includes the Half Marathon, Open 10K, Champions with Disability Run, Senior Citizens’ Run, and Dream Run events.

The half-marathon will begin in the Mahim Reti Bunder Ground, with the remainder of the races starting at CSMT.

Victor Kiplangat, the 2023 world champion from Uganda, will highlight the men’s marathon. Merhawi Kesete of Eritrea and Tesfaye Demeke of Ethiopia, who placed second and third in the 2025 Mumbai Marathon, will also be among the top contenders. Ethiopia’s Medina Armino, who finished third in last year’s Mumbai Marathon, will be a strong contender in the women’s elite division.

The Indian team will be captained by reigning champions Anish Thapa and Nirmaben Thakor. Anish, who also won the Hyderabad Marathon 2025, will compete against Man Singh, the runner-up in last year’s Mumbai Marathon. Nirmaben Thakor, on the contrary, will be aiming for a hat trick of Mumbai Marathon victories in the women’s category.

Olympian Lalita Babar, an Asian Games bronze medallist, has previously won the Mumbai Marathon India’s top women’s event, three years in a row from 2012 to 2014. However, Nirmaben Thakor will have challenge from other Indian athletes such as Jyoti Gawate and Bhagirathi.Jyoti Gawate claimed the Mumbai Marathon twice, in 2011 and 2017, while Bhagirathi additionally won marathons in Hyderabad and Delhi.
