The domestic T20 league of Tamil Nadu, organised by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) is all set to kick off its 2023 edition on June 12, 2023.
The competition will include eight teams from eight regions in India’s southernmost state. The eight teams competing in the seventh season of the T20 competition are Chepauk Super Gillies, Dindigul Dragons, iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans, Lyca Kovai Kings, Nellai Royal Kings, Ruby Trichy Warriors, Salem Spartans and Siechem Madurai Panthers
A total of 32 games will be contested over four locations in Tamil Nadu. The TNPL 2023 final will be held at the Indian Cement Company Ground in Tirunelveli. SNR College Cricket Ground in Coimbatore, NPR College Ground in Dindigul, and Salem’s SCF Ground are the other three TNPL 2023 venues. In a round-robin format, eight sides will compete against each other. The top four teams will advance to the TNPL 2023 playoffs, which will consist of Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and the Final.
Chepauk Super Gillies and Lyca Kovai Kings shared the title in the previous edition after the final match was called off due to rain. Chepauk Super Gillies are the most successful team in the league, having won four championships.
