The Prime Volleyball League (PVL), India’s premier professional volleyball competition, is all set to begin its Season 4 today, October 2.
With the addition of Goa Guardians, PVL currently has ten competitive teams, making it the competition’s largest edition in history.
The teams are divided into two pools of five. Pool A features Goa Guardians, Chennai Blitz, Kochi Blue Spikers, Bengaluru Torpedoes, and Kolkata Thunderbolts. Pool B includes Hyderabad Black Hawks, Delhi Toofans, Ahmedabad Defenders, Mumbai Meteors, and Calicut Heroes. Each team will play seven matches, four inside their group and three against teams from the opposing pool, for a total of 38 matches, including the playoffs.
Unlike prior seasons, Season 4 has a pooled ranking system, with the top four teams overall, regardless of pool, advancing to the semi-finals on October 24. The grand finale is scheduled for October 26, with a high-stakes duel to crown the ultimate PVL champion.
Season 4 features more doubleheaders, tighter scheduling, and increased fan involvement. Goa Guardians’ entrance to the event adds a fresh regional flair, and the league’s rising commercial and athletic appeal is highlighted by its projected INR 500 crore worth. Fast-paced action and exciting team rivalries are combined in this format to appeal to both casual and die-hard sports fans.
Where to watch:
PVL fans will not miss a beat this season owing to the official broadcaster Sony Sports Network, which will show all matches live across India. Matches will be broadcast globally via PVL’s YouTube site, allowing fans from all around the world to watch the action-packed season.
