The European major professional basketball competition, Euroleague Basketball has entered into a multi-year pact with Visa, a globally renowned payment company.
The deal has enabled Visa to be the official payments partner of the EuroLeague and the second-tier EuroCup. The agreement, which runs through the conclusion of the 2026-27 edition, will provide the financial services entity with in-arena and on-broadcast branding opportunities at the EuroLeague and EuroCup fixtures. In addition, both the competition’s digital and social media mediums will also display the Visa logo.
Both parties involved will team up to provide special offers and promotions for Visa users surrounding the EuroLeague. Working on the hospitality services for EuroLeague’s May 2025 Final Four season finale will be the focal point.
Visa, along with the competition, will also promote contactless payment systems throughout the participating teams’ arenas.
Speaking on the deal, EuroLeague Chief Commercial Officer Gawain Davies stated, “This is a groundbreaking partnership for Euroleague Basketball and an excellent opportunity for Visa to connect with the basketball community.”
Visa, the California-headquartered financial services company, was founded in 1958. The entity enabling electronic fund transfers has rich experience in sports partnerships. The six-decade-old organization has arrangements with Neeraj Chopra, Mohamed Salah and FIFA.
The ongoing edition of EuroLeague which commenced on October 3, 2024, will go on till May 25, 2025.
