England Netball extends partnership with Nike

These two entities first inked their partnership in 2018.

England Netball, the sport’s domestic governing body, has secured a three-year extension with the US sportswear giant, Nike. In this deal, Nike will continue to supply kits for the Vitality Roses national team, as well as the Roses academy and England Netball’s performance team. While England’s Netball staff will also be seen wearing the Nike kits.

These two entities first inked their partnership in 2018, which they will now use to take netball to new communities, inspiring more girls to play the game. While it is already the number one played female adult team sport in the country, with England Netball reporting over 2.4 million women and girls play it each year.

Speaking on the occasion, Fran Connolly, chief executive of England Netball, said: “Nike is a world leader in sports innovation and design, and we are thrilled to extend our partnership that will see our athletes continue to train and play in the very best performance apparel.

“But Nike are so much more than an apparel partner – they also share our vision to innovate the game and inspire women and girls through the power of sport and culture, connecting with audiences not just on the netball court but beyond the court to drive positive change and impact lives.”

Last month, the governing body also renewed its partnership with Vitality, the UK-based life insurance company, following which the company will continue to hold the naming rights of the national team until 2023. Now, the Vitality Roses will continue to utilize Nike as a medium for team exposure, encouraging youngsters to take up the sport.
