The American video game company, Electronic Arts (EA), has deepened its commitment to women’s football through a new multi-year global licensing agreement with UEFA, bringing the UEFA Women’s Champions League and the UEFA Women’s EURO into its flagship football gaming series, EA SPORTS FC.
The deal ensures both tournaments will be fully integrated into EA SPORTS FC 26, complete with official branding, authentic competition formats, and iconic trophies. For players, this means a true-to-life digital experience of the two most prestigious stages in women’s club and international football.
The partnership builds on EA’s existing collaboration with UEFA, first established in 2022 when the Women’s Champions League was added to the franchise alongside support for Together #WePlayStrong, UEFA’s initiative to grow women’s football across Europe.
Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA executive director of marketing, welcomed the extension and said, “Continuing our collaboration with EA is an exciting opportunity to keep driving the growth of women’s football after a very successful UEFA Women’s Champions League season and UEFA Women’s EURO 2025. We look forward to fans and gamers alike continuing to experience the thrill of these two flagship UEFA women’s competitions in one of the world’s most popular video games.”
James Taylor, Director of Football Partnerships at EA SPORTS, added, “We’re proud to continue our partnership with UEFA and to showcase the UEFA Women’s Champions League in FC 26. The UEFA Women’s Champions League is the pinnacle of women’s club football, and bringing it to life in-game reflects our commitment to celebrating and elevating the women’s game for fans everywhere.”
EA SPORTS FC 26 will feature more than 20,000 licensed players, over 750 clubs and national teams, and more than 120 stadiums worldwide. The addition of UEFA’s premier women’s competitions strengthens the game’s reputation as the most comprehensive football simulation on the market.
The announcement comes at a pivotal moment for women’s football, which is witnessing record-breaking attendances, surging media rights valuations, and growing investment from global brands. By embedding UEFA’s tournaments into a platform enjoyed by millions of gamers worldwide, both Electronic Arts and UEFA aim to further boost visibility and accelerate the sport’s global momentum.
