EA SPORTS and the National Football League (NFL) have announced a multi-year extension of their long-standing partnership, strengthening one of the most enduring alliances in sports entertainment.

The renewed agreement not only preserves EA SPORTS’ exclusive rights to develop officially licensed NFL simulation games, including the globally popular Madden NFL franchise, but also expands the collaboration to new frontiers of technology, fan engagement, and global reach.

Under the extended deal, the gaming giant will continue to deliver authentic NFL content through Madden NFL, one of the most successful video game franchises in history, while deepening investment in EA SPORTS College Football. The partnership will now go beyond traditional gaming, focusing on large-scale interactive experiences that connect fans through digital platforms, social ecosystems, and competitive esports.

Commenting on the occasion, Cam Weber, President of EA SPORTS, said, “EA SPORTS and the NFL have built one of the most iconic partnerships in all of sports and entertainment, and we see so much opportunity ahead to deliver for football fans everywhere. With more than 2 billion games of Madden NFL played each year, the global community of football fans connecting through play has never been bigger. Together with the NFL, we will continue to shape the interactive future of football — expanding Madden NFL, growing College Football, and creating new breakthrough experiences for the next generation of fans.”

Renie Anderson, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer at the NFL, added, “Madden NFL has become one of the most widely recognized and culturally relevant gaming franchises in the world. As we look to this new chapter in our partnership with EA SPORTS, our focus remains on the success of NFL simulation gameplay and providing our fans with the best entertainment and experiences around the sport they love.”

Technology remains central to the partnership’s evolution. EA SPORTS will harness real-world data, machine learning, and volumetric capture to make gameplay more dynamic and lifelike, from player movements and stadium environments to in-game decision-making and live content updates. These advancements will reinforce Madden NFL’s reputation for realism and help set new standards in sports gaming.

The global expansion of the NFL-EA partnership is already underway. EA SPORTS served as the presenting sponsor of the NFL Experience Dublin and the 2025 NFL Dublin Game, marking a significant milestone in the NFL’s international growth strategy. The Madden NFL Championship Series (MCS) is also extending its global reach, staging its first-ever competition in Spain to coincide with the NFL Madrid Game in 2025.

The extension secures EA SPORTS’ exclusive rights to develop NFL simulation titles through at least April 2031, reinforcing the two organizations’ leadership at the crossroads of sports, technology, and interactive entertainment.

For the NFL, the partnership aligns with its ambition to engage younger, digitally native audiences worldwide. For the sports entertainment leader, it reinforces a legacy of innovation that has defined virtual football for over three decades.

The announcement also comes as EA SPORTS continues to expand its global football footprint. Recent milestones include the renewal of its partnership with Atlético de Madrid, an expanded licensing agreement with UEFA to elevate women’s football, the integration of live MLS content in EA SPORTS FC Mobile through Apple TV, and a collaboration with Mumbai City FC in the Indian Super League (ISL).

For the NFL, this renewed alliance adds to a growing roster of global partnerships with technology and lifestyle leaders, including Microsoft, YouTube, and Nike, each aimed at deepening fan engagement across multiple platforms.

Together, EA SPORTS and the NFL are charting a new course for interactive football, one where realism, innovation, and community transform how fans experience the sport, both on and off the field.
