DP World Tour, HSBC extend ties for Abu Dhabi Championship 2024

HSBC will remain as the title partner of the Abu Dhabi Championship for the 2024 edition.

The DP World Tour has announced an extension of its partnership with HSBC, an international financial and banking solution.

In this deal, the brand will remain as the title partner of the Abu Dhabi Championship for the 2024 edition. Notably, this bolsters the association, which first began in 2011.

The 19th edition of the contest will be held on Yas Island from November 7 to 10, with the Rolex Series event serving as the first of two events in the new season-ending DP World Tour playoffs. It will include the top 70 players from the Race to Dubai Rankings, with the top 50 at the end of the playoffs progressing to the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. The two playoff events in the UAE will have a total prize pool of $19 million.

The sporting event took home several awards for its unique preparation, including a Silver Award for ‘Best Sports Event’ in 2024 and ‘Best Sponsorship Collaboration’ in 2023 at the Middle East Sports Industry Awards.

Jonathan Castleman, Global Head of Brand at HSBC, said, “We are thrilled to continue our long-term partnership with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and DP World Tour as the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship returns to Yas Island for the third consecutive year. The new format DP World Tour Play-Offs sees the tournament entering a new era, and HSBC has been supporting growth ambitions and opportunities across the UAE since we first opened our doors for business here more than 75 years ago. We can’t wait to welcome fans old and new to Yas Links in November where entry is free for all.”

Max Hamilton, Group Commercial Director of the DP World Tour, commented, “The Abu Dhabi Championship has become a true sporting festival, blending world class golf with family friendly entertainment. HSBC’s excellence in partnership activation, honed by supporting the game of golf for many years, has been pivotal in building the tournament into what it is today. The event’s new November slot within the DP World Tour Play-Offs will further elevate its profile as world class golfers descend on Yas Links once again.”
