DP World, the global smart logistics company, has expanded its cricket footprint by appointing Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma as its new brand ambassador.
The partnership brings one of India’s fastest-rising T20 entertainers into a portfolio that already includes Sachin Tendulkar and golfer Tommy Fleetwood, signalling the company’s continued push into world cricket’s biggest market.
The long-term agreement will see Sharma feature across DP World’s campaigns, digital storytelling, community programmes, and stakeholder events.
Rizwan Soomar, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Middle East, North Africa & India Subcontinent, DP World, said, “We are delighted to welcome Abhishek Sharma to the DP World family as our new brand ambassador — a stellar addition to our circle of sporting champions. At DP World, our brand purpose is to “Change What’s Possible”, a philosophy that Abhishek truly embodies. On the field, he represents talent, fearlessness, and joy in equal measure, redefining what it means to go beyond boundaries. As we look ahead to a season of exciting ICC tournaments, we look forward to cheering him on and wish him continued success on this remarkable journey.”
Abhishek Sharma said, “I am thrilled to sign as a DP World brand ambassador. Cricket has given me everything, shaping who I am both on and off the pitch, so I know first-hand the impact that it can have. DP World is a company that is clearly committed to helping grow the sport, making it more accessible for more players, in more places across the globe. I look forward to being part of this journey, working together to grow the game for everyone.”
For DP World, the move reinforces a rapidly expanding sports portfolio. The company is already a global partner of the International Cricket Council, and holds team partnerships with Delhi Capitals in both the Indian Premier League and Women’s Premier League. It also plays a commercial role across the DP World International League T20, Betway SA20, and the Asia Cup. Bringing in a young Indian star gives the brand deeper visibility in a cricket economy that drives global fan engagement and sponsorship value.
The timing of the ambassador appointment is significant for Sharma. The 24-year-old dominated the recent DP World Asia Cup, scoring 314 runs in seven innings, the highest aggregate in the tournament’s history. His performances earned him the Player of the Tournament award and propelled him to the top of the ICC Men’s T20I batter rankings with what is being described as the highest rating recorded in the format.
As Sharma returns to India’s T20 squad, expectations around his trajectory are only growing. His upcoming international fixtures, together with his presence across DP World’s campaigns, will offer a clear look at how the partnership can shape both his commercial profile and the brand’s narrative in cricket’s most influential market.
The agreement positions DP World to benefit from Sharma’s rising influence, while giving the player a global platform at a moment when his career is accelerating at full tilt.
