In the second match of the DP World Asia Cup 2025, India defeated UAE by nine wickets at the Dubai International Stadium.

The Men in Blue won the toss and opted to field first. The decision paid off brilliantly, with India’s bowlers tearing apart the UAE batting line-up for just 57 runs. The defending champion’s bowling unit was in top form, highlighted by a fantastic effort by Kuldeep Yadav, who had figures of 4/7. Shivam Dube helped him out with three wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, and Varun Chakaravarthy each took one.

The hosts’ sole resistance came from an opening stand of 26 runs by Alishan Sharafu (22) and skipper Muhammad Waseem (19). Unfortunately for UAE, none of the other batsmen reached double digits as wickets fell in quick succession.

Chasing an insignificant target of 58, India quickly wrapped up the match. Abhishek Sharma (30) got off to a flying start, hitting a six and a four early on. Although he fell with the goal in sight, his aggressiveness set the tone for the pursuit. Shubman Gill (20) delivered a polished contribution with a strike rate of 222.22, while Suryakumar Yadav (7) maintained the momentum. India sealed the chase in just 4.3 overs, a statement win in every sense.

Junaid Siddique was the lone wicket-taker for the UAE, dismissing Abhishek Sharma.

For his brilliant bowling show, Kuldeep was adjudged Player of the Match. With this win, India have taken two points as well as a gigantic lead in the NRR.

Scorecard:

UAE: 57/10, Overs 13.1, Alishan Sharafu 22, Kuldeep Yadav 4/7

India: 60/1, Overs 4.3, Abhishek Sharma 30, Junaid Siddique 1/16
