Bandyopadhyay was promoted to director of sports sales last year and in total has worked for the company for more than four years.
At Star Sports, senior VP of advertising sales Vaibhav Goyal has also reportedly put in his papers. Incidentally, he was elevated to his current role in November 2021. “Ambarish Bandyopadhyay has quit Disney Star as ad sales head for sports. Apart from him, Vaibhav Goyal has also decided to leave,” as per sources.
“There is a lot of pressure on the ad sales team this year to achieve IPL ad revenue targets under a very challenging situation,” the source added. Approximately three to four mid-level ad sales professionals from the sports sales team are thought to have submitted papers, according to those privies to the situation.
