Disney Star mints 36.9 crore viewers for first 19 IPL 2023 matches

Disney Star also claimed to have recorded 11350 crores (113.5 billion) minutes of watch time for the live coverage of the first 19 IPL 2023 matches.

Disney Star, the official television broadcaster of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023-27, announced that it had shattered all viewing records for the first 19 games of the ongoing edition of the showpiece event.

According to BARC, 36.9 crore viewers tuned in to Disney Star’s live coverage of the first 19 matches, which is the highest ever in IPL history, even after accounting for the two seasons of IPL played during covid.

The broadcaster also claimed to have recorded 11350 crores (113.5 billion) minutes of watch time for the live coverage of the first 19 matches. Disney Star also had a 25% increase in match TVR compared to the previous edition for the live broadcast of the first 19 matches, fueled by engagement levels reaching new highs.

“This massive growth is a testament to the success of the marketing campaign, the standard of broadcast on Disney Star Network, and a huge reaffirmation of TV’s incomparable capacity to aggregate audiences,” the broadcaster explained.
