Disney Star achieves IPL 2023 peak TV attendance of over thirty million for 26 out of 38 matches

The first game, between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), attracted the most views and topped the list of the top ten games with 5.6 crore, followed by match 24 between CSK and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) with 5.2 crore. The 33rd game of the current edition between CSK and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) recorded 5.1 crore of peak concurrency.

Furthermore, the sixth match of the season between CSK versus Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) drew a total of 5 crore viewers. The fifth match between RCB and Mumbai Indians (MI) drew 4.6 crore viewers at its peak. Match 12 between MI and CSK attracted 4.5 crore viewers. The ninth match, between KKR and RCB, had a similar viewership of 4.5 crore.

In a press release last week, Disney Star Network indicated that it was still succeeding in shattering IPL audience records on television, with 2.53 crore new viewers tuning in to witness the fourth week of IPL 2023.

After 38 games, cumulative live viewership reached 43.4 crore, the second highest in IPL history. In addition, the broadcaster saw a more than 27% increase in TVR for the first 38 games compared to the previous edition. With 29.1 crore viewers tuned in for the first 38 matches, the Hindi Speaking Markets (HSM) has registered the highest viewership in IPL history.
