SuperHealth, the new AI-led hospital network, has opened its first facility in Bengaluru after securing a strategic investment from MS Dhoni, the former India cricket team captain whose commercial portfolio increasingly targets long-term, high-impact sectors.
The investment marks Dhoni’s first major move into healthcare delivery at a time when India’s medical infrastructure is rapidly shifting toward technology-driven models.
SuperHealth confirmed that Dhoni has acquired a minority stake as part of the company’s rollout phase. The financial details remain undisclosed, but the organisation described the partnership as a long-term strategic alignment that strengthens its mission to deliver affordable, transparent, and technology-enabled healthcare. The flagship Bengaluru hospital anchors this ambition with an AI-first clinical model designed to automate diagnostics, patient management, and operational workflows.
Speaking on the occasion, Varun Dubey, Founder & CEO, Superhealth, said, “The healthcare system is broken by high capex and commission-driven incentives. We’re rebuilding hospitals from the ground up, super high quality, extremely easy to use, radically transparent, and with zero wait times. This frees doctors to focus on one thing: the best patient care.”
Mahendra Singh Dhoni added, “Healthcare is a fundamental human need, but people struggle with access, quality, convenience, and affordability. I’m excited to support Superhealth’s mission to fix healthcare and deliver high-quality care to everyone. Their approach will not only improve outcomes but rebuild trust in the system.”
Nikhil Bhandarkar, Managing Director, Panthera Peak Capital, continued, “Superhealth’s speed, quality, and clarity of execution are exceptional. We’re excited to partner with Superhealth for the long term.”
The Bengaluru hospital represents the first of ten facilities planned for the city. Founded in 2024, SuperHealth delivers an integrated healthcare experience built to eliminate delays, inefficiencies and opaque billing. The new centre houses extensive outpatient and inpatient departments and offers speciality care across cardiology, general surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, gastroenterology, urology, dermatology, ophthalmology and pulmonology. The hospital is designed with patient accessibility in mind, placing all outpatient departments on the ground floor, offering single-occupancy rooms for privacy, and equipping consultation spaces with electric beds to support those with mobility challenges.
Central to the hospital’s operations is SuperOS, the company’s proprietary AI platform that links automation, diagnostics and clinical intelligence. The system can convert doctor voice notes into digital prescriptions in seven Indian languages with more than 95 percent accuracy, enabling faster processing and a fully paperless workflow.
SuperHealth plans to scale significantly over the next five years. By 2030, the network aims to operate 100 hospitals across India, comprising more than 5,000 beds and generating an estimated 50,000 healthcare jobs. The company positions its model as a modern alternative to conventional private hospitals by emphasising affordability, system-wide transparency and AI-enhanced efficiency.
Dhoni’s investment comes through his family office, which has previously backed several emerging Indian companies, including 7Ink Brews in the food and beverage category, Khatabook in fintech, Garuda Aerospace in drones, HomeLane in interior solutions, Shaka Harry in plant-based foods and the Global Schools Foundation in the education ecosystem. His association adds strong national visibility to SuperHealth’s expansion plans as it begins its journey toward building one of India’s largest AI-led healthcare networks.
