Detroit Tigers, Meijer announce landmark partnership extension

As a part of the extension, Meijer will be Detroit Tigers' first jersey patch partner with the branding placed on the sleeves of the Tiggs’ home and away jerseys.

The Major League Baseball (MLB) team, Detroit Tigers have announced a landmark multi-year partnership extension with the American supermarket chain, Meijer.

As a part of the extension, the supermarket chain will be the club’s first jersey patch partner with the branding placed on the sleeves of the Tiggs’ home and away jerseys.

The renewal of the alliance will also focus on its community-driven noble and goodwill initiatives which include the new “Striking Out Hunger”, in which both the entities from Michigan will be donating $100 every time a Tigers pitcher strikes out the batters from the opposite side to the hunger relief program. 

The extension deal will also focus on the Hometown Holiday Assist programme, which assists Detroit families and regional non-profit organisations throughout the holiday season.

Founded in 1934, Meijer is an American supermarket chain that has its headquarters in Walker, Michigan, United States. Meijer has 259 stores and 208 gas stations all over the regions of Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
