DAZN renews Premier League broadcasting rights in Spain till 2024-2025 season

Earlier the deal was till 2022-23 but now the new agreement keeps the OTT platform for another two years in Spain.

English OTT platform DAZN has extended its contract to broadcast the English Premier League in Spain till the end 2024-25 season. Earlier the deal was till 2022-23 but now the new agreement keeps the OTT platform for another two years in Spain.

Live coverage, and on-demand content such as documentaries, interviews and original productions will be provided by DAZN to its users. The OTT platform acquired the rights to broadcast the league for the 2019-2020 season. Previously, Telefonica were the television operator from 2016-17 to 2018-19 season

Veronica Diquattro, chief customer and innovation officer at DAZN, said, “We will keep on working together to offer the growing number of fans who follow the Premier League in Spain the best experience and the best content so that they can enjoy it to the full and discover new stories first hand through the key players, on and off the field.”

Premier League chief media officer, Paul Molnar has also shared his insight on the deal and said that they are delighted to extend this relationship with DAZN in Spain and the fans will be looking forward to more live coverage of the games.

Previously, DAZN managed to telecast all the remaining games of the 2019-2020 season of Premier League after the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain.

DAZN already holds the broadcasting rights of Premier League in other countries like Brazil, Canada, Japan and the Philippines between 2019-22. The streaming platform recently acquired the rights to the UEFA Women’s Champions League from 2021-22 to 2024-25.

DAZN also proposed an offer to broadcast other major competitions in Spain such as Copa del Rey, the Copa Libertadores, the FA Cup, the Carabao Cup, the Coppa Italia and Major League Soccer (MLS).
