DAZN bags broadcast rights for eSkootr Championship globally

DAZN will broadcast the Championship to its 200+ nations and territories around the world as part of the agreement.

The DAZN Group, the world’s premier sports and entertainment organization, has obtained the broadcasting rights of eSkootr Championship (eSC).

DAZN will broadcast the Championship to its 200+ nations and territories around the world as part of the agreement (excluding Australia and Brazil). DAZN will cover all six events from May through October as part of a non-exclusive season-long partnership.

Each racing day event will be live-streamed on DAZN, with live footage and replays available. DAZN users will be able to watch the eSkootr Championship, with the first aired event taking place on May 14, 2022, in London.

Veteran speed skater Elise Christie, British BMX rider Tre Whyte, and Olympic bronze medalist snowboarder Billy Morgan are among some of the riders picked for the series, which will take place in countries such as the United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, Spain, Italy, and the United States.

“Bringing the eSkootr Championship to our platform on a global scale underlines our commitment to making a broad range of sport more accessible to an ever-increasing number of fans. This is set to be an exhilarating racing season and we can’t wait to get it started,” said, Tom Burrows, DAZN EVP of Rights.

The eSC joins DAZN’s premium sports and original programming lineup, which includes the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Women’s Champions League, Bundesliga, LaLiga, Serie A, J.League, and Matchroom Boxing, among others.

eSC also recently entered into broadcasting agreements with beIN Sports and Fox Sports Australia.
