DAZN amplifies FIFA Club World Cup 2025 reach with key broadcast alliances in Brazil and Russia

These partnerships underscore DAZN's commitment to maximising the global reach of the revamped 32-team competition, scheduled in the USA from June 14 to July 13, 2025.

DAZN, the global rights holder for the highly anticipated FIFA Club World Cup 2025, is strategically expanding the tournament’s accessibility through significant sub-licensing agreements in Brazil and Russia.

These partnerships underscore DAZN’s commitment to maximising the global reach of the revamped 32-team competition, scheduled to captivate audiences in the United States from June 14 to July 13, 2025.

In a landmark move for the Brazilian market, DAZN has forged a powerful alliance with media conglomerate Globo to deliver extensive coverage of the Club World Cup. The agreement sees Globo’s leading free-to-air channel, TV Globo, broadcast a minimum of 25 key matches, ensuring widespread access for football enthusiasts across the nation. Complementing this, Globo’s prominent pay-TV sports channel, Sportv, will showcase at least 40 matches, providing even deeper coverage. Notably, Globo’s platforms will offer comprehensive coverage of all fixtures featuring the four participating Brazilian giants – Botafogo, Palmeiras, Flamengo, and Fluminense – in addition to the highly anticipated opening match and the grand final. This collaboration marks DAZN’s second strategic sub-licensing deal in Brazil, following their earlier agreement with the popular sports streaming platform CazeTV, which will also broadcast a significant number of matches. Despite these strategic partnerships, DAZN will continue to offer live streaming of all 63 Club World Cup matches on its own platform within Brazil, providing fans with comprehensive viewing options.

Simultaneously, DAZN has finalised an exclusive broadcast rights agreement with Russian sports streaming service Okko for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in Russia. This strategic move addresses DAZN’s absence of a traditional broadcasting infrastructure in the Russian market, ensuring that football fans in the region will have access to the prestigious tournament. Okko has secured the complete suite of rights from DAZN for the Russian territory. It is important to note that due to the ongoing ban on Russian teams from international football competitions, no Russian clubs will be participating in the upcoming Club World Cup.

These strategic sub-licensing deals in Brazil and Russia are integral to DAZN’s overarching strategy to maximise the global viewership of the expanded 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Having secured the global rights for an estimated $1 billion in December 2024, DAZN is strategically leveraging partnerships with established broadcasters in key territories to extend the tournament’s reach far beyond its own streaming platform. This multi-pronged approach not only caters to local viewing preferences but also strategically contributes to optimising the significant investment in rights acquisition.

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup signifies a transformative expansion of the tournament, featuring 32 elite teams from across the six FIFA confederations competing in an exciting new format. DAZN’s proactive sub-licensing strategy, exemplified by the agreements with Globo and Okko, underscores its commitment to delivering comprehensive and accessible coverage of this landmark event to football fans worldwide. These agreements join a growing list of key broadcast partners secured by DAZN, including Channel 5 in the UK, Mediaset in Spain and Italy, CazeTV in Brazil, TNT Sports and TelevisaUnivision in the US, and MBC Group in Egypt, demonstrating the truly global appeal of this marquee sporting event. Further sub-licensing announcements in other territories are anticipated in the lead-up to the tournament.

DAZN is the leading global sports streaming platform, offering fans unparalleled choice and flexibility in how they consume their favourite sports. With live and on-demand content available on any device, anywhere, and at an affordable price, DAZN is revolutionising the way people watch sports.

The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 is a groundbreaking, revamped edition of the prestigious international club football tournament. Expanding significantly from its previous seven-team format, the 2025 edition will feature 32 top teams from the six FIFA confederations, competing in the United States from June 14 to July 13, 2025.
