David Beckham invests in Prenetics to launch health brand IM8

Prenetics and Beckham will become co-founding partners of IM8, which will concentrate on innovative consumer health products.

Prenetics, a health sciences startup, revealed that former international footballer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist David Beckham has joined as a strategic investor.

According to the firm, Prenetics and Beckham will become co-founding partners of a new wellness and healthcare brand, IM8, which will concentrate on innovative consumer health products.

On the development, Beckham said, “Throughout my life and career, I’ve been fortunate to have access to the best medical professionals, nutrition experts and fitness coaches. Their guidance has been crucial to my health and well-being. That’s why I am excited to be working with Prenetics – a company that is dedicated to innovative, world-leading scientific advancements in health – as a co-founding partner and ambassador for IM8.”

According to the firm, the Inter Miami CF owner also met with Prenetics shareholder Professor Dennis Lo, and was pleased by Lo’s pioneering discovery of non-invasive prenatal testing in 1997, as well as his current focus on early cancer identification. These discussions have emphasised the enormous potential of Prenetics’ ideas to improve global health and life expectancy.

Danny Yeung, CEO and Co-founder of Prenetics, said, “This partnership with David marks a transformative era for Prenetics in global health innovation and wellness. Working closely with David these past months, I’ve been consistently inspired by his vision for accessible health for all. With IM8, we have a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the consumer health and wellness industry.”

It’s a novel move for Beckham, who has previously endorsed companies such as adidas, AliExpress, and Haig whisky, in addition to his own branded items such as eyewear with Safilo and beauty products with Coty and L’Oréal.
