Cricket Australia joins hands with PlayHQ

Cricket Australia (CA) has partnered with sports technology portal PlayHQ to deliver modern competition management and player registration platform. This will reduce the workload of club administrators and provide the best possible digital experience to all cricketers.

PlayHQ is a Melbourne-based company that provides simple and effective digital solutions for community sport. CA has done thorough research in the past 18 months to find the best long-term partner for cricket.

The new platform will be central to CA’s vision to enhance the experience of participants and provide the best services with the use of technology, other initiatives such as live streaming, and other tools such as business management and customer management.

CA has also invited volunteers to take part in the product development phase by sharing their insights and experiences.

Kieran McMillan, Cricket Australia’s Head of Customer Experience, said, “This is a critical project for Australian cricket. We need to get the basics right first, and there is an immediate need to replace the legacy platform with a system that is modern and makes it easier to do all the tasks required to run local programs and competitions. Tens of thousands of volunteers give up their evenings and weekends for our sport, and we want to give them back some time to enjoy the best parts of getting involved in their club.”

McMillan also insisted that this partnership will bring digital innovation and increase functionality over time.
