Cricket Australia and Dettol sign partnership deal

Dettol and Cricket Australia have announced a new four-year global partnership that will support the secure and hygienic return of cricket for Australian players, staff, fans, and the community.

The disinfectant brand will join as the naming rights partner of the Men’s One Day International and Men’s T20 International Series. It will also partner with Men’s Support Team and Women’s team.

The two organizations will work together to develop important hygiene protocols to benefit the teams, support staff, and wider cricketing community. Dettol will also provide products to players and staff, offering them trusted germ protection throughout the season that will follow CA’s safety protocols.

Dettol and CA will be working together to investigate the transmission of germs in cricket. The coronavirus pandemic has made a drastic impact on the game, so it is essential to come with innovative ideas to reduce the transmission of the virus on the field.

Having heard about CA’s plans to test disinfectant on cricket balls, Dettol offered to lend their expertise to test and validate different hypotheses on germ transfer in the game.

In addition, to help return the cricket at the elite level, Dettol will bolster one of Cricket Australia’s efforts to support the work of community clubs and volunteers across the country.

Protocols have been put in place to ensure cricket can be played during summer later this year at the domestic and international levels. Dettol is set to supply products to the current 3,455 cricket clubs offering trusted germ protection to players.

The disinfectant brand will also help inspire and reinforce new hygiene behavior changes in the next generation of Australians, both through community cricket and Dettol’s Healthy Habits school program.
