Complan has revived its iconic ‘Complan Boy’ brand property with teenage cricket sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, using the young Indian international to give one of Indian advertising’s most recognisable equities a contemporary sporting identity.

The campaign, titled ‘India Ka Complan Boy’, builds on Complan’s decision to appoint Sooryavanshi as its brand ambassador earlier in 2026. It follows the launch of the brand’s ‘Thoda Plan, Thoda Complan’ platform and represents the next phase of its association with the cricketer.

The latest campaign draws on Sooryavanshi’s rapid rise in cricket, highlighting the preparation, discipline and perseverance behind his achievements. Rather than introducing the cricketer simply as a celebrity endorser, Complan has incorporated him directly into the brand property that has been associated with ambitious young consumers for decades.

Sooryavanshi made his India debut as a teenager and has quickly become one of the most closely watched young talents in Indian cricket following his emergence in the IPL and international cricket. His profile gives Complan a high-visibility sporting platform through which to reconnect its heritage with a younger generation.

Tarun Arora, CEO and Whole-Time Director, Zydus Wellness, said, “Brands stay relevant when they continue to evolve with the people they serve. At Complan, we have a distinctive legacy of celebrating children who dream big, and today’s generation is dreaming in new and different ways. Vaibhav represents that evolution beautifully. His journey is a story of ambition, preparation, perseverance, and family support. These values have always been at the heart of Complan. With ‘India ka Complan Boy’ we are refreshing a much-loved brand equity and bringing it into the lives of a new generation in a way that feels authentic to them.”

Sooryavanshi added, “Playing in the IPL and getting the opportunity to represent India at such a young age is something I feel very grateful for. I know I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn. Whatever I have achieved so far has only been possible because of the support of my family, coaches, and teammates. We are three brothers who have grown up with Complan in the house, so becoming ‘India ka Complan Boy’ feels really special. I hope it encourages other children to dream big, work hard, and always remain grounded.”

For Sooryavanshi, the association also carries a personal connection, with the cricketer saying that he and his two brothers grew up with Complan at home.

The partnership comes as Complan seeks to strengthen its relevance in a competitive nutrition-drinks category. By combining its established advertising equity with one of Indian cricket’s most prominent emerging talents, the brand is attempting to bridge nostalgia among existing consumers with contemporary relevance among younger audiences.

The strategy also demonstrates the increasing value of young sporting talent to FMCG brands. In Sooryavanshi, Complan has found an athlete whose own narrative, starting young, preparing consistently and progressing rapidly, closely mirrors the aspirational positioning that has defined the ‘Complan Boy’ for generations.

With ‘India Ka Complan Boy’, the brand is therefore not launching a new character, but recasting an established piece of Indian advertising history for a new generation through sport.
