The Major League Baseball (MLB) team, Chicago Cubs, announced a multi-year partnership with Motorola, an American multinational telecommunications company.
The agreement has designated the tech giant as the team’s official jersey patch partner. The iconic Motorola “batwing” logo will adorn all Cubs uniforms, marking a significant collaboration between two Chicago-based institutions.
The partnership extends beyond the jersey patch, encompassing in-stadium signage, a sponsorship with Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson, and support for Cubs Charities. The electronics company will also serve as the “official smartphone partner” of the Cubs and Wrigley Field, with the team utilizing the new Motorola razr+ for social media content.

Founded in 1928, Motorola has a rich history in telecommunications. The company’s iconic Razr phone revolutionized the mobile industry. While the original company split in 2011, the Motorola brand continues to be synonymous with innovation. In addition to the Cubs partnership, Motorola is the premium mobile smartphone partner of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and the BKT EuroCup.
The Cubs hold a 53-58 record, placing them fifth in the NL Central. As they look to climb the standings and compete for a playoff spot, the team will face the St. Louis Cardinals in their next series.
