The National Basketball Association (NBA) team, Chicago Bulls, has announced a new multi-year partnership with the Chicago-based tech giant, Motorola Mobility. Following this deal, the brand will serve as the official jersey patch partner of the NBA team.
The collaboration contains a variety of marketing factors, community initiatives, digital assets, in-arena signage, and other projects. Along with the new official jersey patch partnership deal, Motorola is also the official global partner and exclusive mobile smartphone partner of the Chicago Bulls.
On the partnership, Bulls President, Michael Reinsdorf, commented, “The Bulls and Motorola both have a strong connection to our shared hometown of Chicago, which played a role in establishing the foundation for our relationship. We have worked together in the past, and it is exciting to see us take this significant step into a new, expanded partnership that will have a local, national and global reach.”
Motorola’s famous “batwing” branding will be featured on the left chest of all the Chicago Bulls jerseys. The deal will commence with the Bulls’ first preseason match against the New Orleans Pelicans on October 4.
Furthermore, the mobile brand will also be the presenting partner of the team’s City Edition uniform as well as the Bulls’ first City Edition home game against the Orlando Magic on November 18, which will include a fan promotional item.
Motorola President, North America Rudi Kalil, said, “Chicago is the place we’ve called home for many years and the Bulls have been an organization we’ve respected and cheered on throughout that time. Motorola and the Bulls not only share an immense amount of hometown pride but also a passion for bringing people together through unique consumer experiences. We’re thrilled to bring our two brands together and further infuse our company and versatile product portfolio with the vibrant energy of the city and Chicago Bulls and NBA fans around the world.”
On game days, Motorola will have prime brand incorporation showcased across the United Center and Bulls broadcasts. Its branding will be proudly featured on the court, in in-game scoreboard features and replays, on the Bulls’ social media platforms via branded digital content, and on the team’s official website and fan communications. Bulls and Motorola will promote their alliance both locally and globally, as well as initiate activities and experiences for fans all over the world.
Motorola expresses the Bulls’ dedication to using its services to strengthen and assist underserved communities all over Chicago and will work with the team on community violence prevention initiatives all across the future seasons.
