Chelsea to pay a fine of £25,000 to the FA

Chelsea fans reportedly started a petition against Anthony Taylor.

Chelsea has been penalized by the FA for misconduct of behaviour by their players in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Anfield. According to the FA, the Chelsea players behaved in an undisciplined manner against the referee.

The Chelsea players were furious about Anthony Taylor’s decision after he sent off Reece James, which according to the Chelsea players was an incorrect decision.

The players claimed that the ball had deflected off the England star’s thigh onto his arm and that Taylor’s decision was inappropriate.

Chelsea FC has been fined £25,000 for two breaches of FA Rule E20.1 which occurred during their Premier League fixture against Liverpool FC on Saturday 28 August 2021,” said FA.

The club admitted failing to ensure that its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during both the 48th minute of the first half and following the half-time whistle.”

Chelsea came to Anfield on a positive note and scored their first and only goal of the match in the first half, thanks to Kai Havertz’s incredible header goal.

Chelsea looked comfortable with the lead as they were heading towards halftime but the drama began in the injury time when Reece was sent off by Anthony Taylor and Liverpool was awarded a penalty. A fierce argument was going on between the players and the referee on the pitch. Salah scored the penalty, Liverpool saw themselves tied up with the defending CL winners.

Chelsea had to play the rest of the game with 10 men on the pitch and they finished the game with a tie. They dropped points in the first game of the season and currently stand 4th on the PL table.

Chelsea fans were furious about Taylor’s decision and reportedly started a petition about excluding Anthony Taylor from refereeing any of Chelsea’s games in the future.
