The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has entered into a landmark global partnership with Suzuki Motor Corporation for two of its marquee tournaments, the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 and the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2026.
Under the agreement, Suzuki will serve as an official global partner for both tournaments, as well as for the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup during the 2026–27 season. The collaboration aligns Suzuki’s global mobility brand with Africa’s most prestigious football competitions, reinforcing CAF’s strategy to elevate its commercial footprint and global visibility.
Yusuke Kato, Managing Officer and Executive General Manager, Automobile Marketing, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Suzuki Motor Corporation, said, “We are very pleased to have concluded a sponsorship agreement with CAF. Sport has the power to connect people and nurture hope for the future. Through this partnership, we aim to further strengthen the ties between Suzuki, soccer, and Africa, enhancing Suzuki’s brand presence across the continent. We will continue to support the lives of all who love soccer by delivering the joy of mobility and enriching their daily lives.”
For Suzuki, this partnership represents a strategic step into one of the world’s most dynamic consumer and sporting markets. The Japanese automaker sold over 109,000 vehicles across 51 African countries in FY2024, reflecting a strong and expanding presence in the region. Earlier this year, Suzuki also extended its sports marketing portfolio by partnering with South African cricket as the official ODI team sponsor for the Proteas, signaling a clear push into mainstream sports across Africa.
The upcoming AFCON Morocco 2025 is set to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, followed by the WAFCON Morocco 2026, which will be staged the following year. Both tournaments are expected to draw record audiences across television, digital, and live platforms, further cementing CAF’s growing commercial value in the global sports market.
This partnership follows CAF’s recent commercial expansions with global brands such as TotalEnergies, Visa, Puma, Danone, Unilever, and Midea, all of which have aligned with CAF’s vision to transform African football into a sustainable global product. The inclusion of the women’s tournament within Suzuki’s agreement further underscores CAF’s commitment to gender equity and the professional development of women’s football across the continent.
Suzuki’s partnership will be activated through extensive on-ground branding, digital engagement, and fan experience initiatives across stadiums and broadcast channels. The brand intends to connect with Africa’s youthful fan base by merging its core values of mobility, community, and aspiration with the continent’s passion for football.
With this announcement, CAF continues to attract globally recognized brands into its ecosystem, reinforcing the growing economic and cultural influence of African football. As Morocco prepares to host consecutive continental championships, the Suzuki partnership signifies a new era of collaboration between global automotive innovators and Africa’s fast-evolving sports industry.
