Cadillac becomes official vehicle of US Open

Cadillac will have onsite exposure across the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York beginning with the start of the 2022 US Open.

The United States Tennis Association (USTA) has announced a new multi-year agreement with an American car manufacturer, Cadillac. Following this deal, the company is all set to replace Mercedes to become the official vehicle of the US Open Grand Slam event.

Cadillac will have onsite exposure across the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York beginning with the start of the 2022 US Open, along with a showcase of the company’s first all-electric vehicle.

Cadillac will succeed the German automaker, which has been the Grand Slam’s official vehicle since 2009 and has paid a reported USD 9 million per year.

Throughout the competitions, Cadillac’s logo will have prime branding inventory on the nets. Moreover, the corporation has also secured a 3,000 square-foot space to highlight its Electriq Theater and foresight for electric cars.

A number of vehicles will also be provided by the Detroit-based corporation for traveling purposes of players during the US Open.

Deanne Pownall, Managing Director of Corporate Partnerships, said, “The US Open and Cadillac are a perfect match. Cadillac is an iconic American luxury brand with a commitment to excellence, innovation and equality. The US Open Tennis Championships is the biggest and boldest tennis tournament and will provide Cadillac with a spectacular showcase to demonstrate its bold vision to fans on-site and around the world.

“We are thrilled to be welcoming Cadillac to the US Open as a major sponsor that will electrify the fan experience and play an important role in the overall operation of the tournament for many years to come.”

Melissa Grady Dias, Global Chief Marketing Officer of Cadillac, commented, “As one of the four majors, the US Open is one of the most culturally relevant tennis events – with a bold footprint, diverse and inclusive player roster and best-in-class fan base and experiences.

“As the official vehicle of the US Open, we are excited to leverage this hallmark event to mark the arrival of the Cadillac Lyriq and our brand’s all-electric future in an equally bold way.”
