Burnley FC, the newly promoted Premier League (PL) outfit, have announced a virtual reality matchday partnership with Rezzil, the global leader in VR sports technology.
As part of Burnley FC’s continued cooperation with Rezzil, the club will provide a first-of-its-kind, immersive virtual reality broadcast of the Clarets’ pre-season friendly vs S.S. Lazio on August 9, 2025, allowing fans all over the globe to experience Turf Moor in VR.
With this agreement, fans of the beautiful game will be able to experience the whole match live in VR via the Premier League Player app on Meta Quest headsets, delivering the energy of Turf Moor directly into homes around the world. This project puts Burnley FC at the forefront of fan interaction and digital innovation in football, demonstrating the club’s dedication to adopting emerging technologies that improve fans’ experiences with the beautiful game.

As part of the pre-season preparations, supporters can expect a rich, immersive matchday experience for the final ffriendly before Scott Parker’s team returns to Premier League play. Highlights include a virtual seat inside Turf Moor that provides a complete 360-degree panoramic view of the pitch, live commentary, and real-time images of player shirts and club insignias. The experience is built as a specialised single-user VR environment, allowing for concentrated and uninterrupted watching. Best of all, it is free to access through the Meta Quest Store, with no memberships or paywalls necessary.
Rezzil’s cutting-edge VR technology, which is used by professional athletes and prominent clubs, is now central to this unprecedented broadcast experience. As the Premier League’s official partner, Rezzil aims to build the future of fan interaction by bringing fans closer to the action through immersive, next-generation matchday experiences.
