Brentford FC, the Premier League unit, have announced a partnership with the new international money app, Zing.
With this deal, the brand has become Brentford’s official international payments and remittance partner, marking the brand’s first collaboration in sports.
Zing, part of the HSBC group, is a free app for UK citizens aged 18 and over. Zing aims to make international money transfers as simple as possible by allowing users to keep money in over 20 currencies, send money in more than 30 currencies, and spend money anywhere in the globe. This is all handled via easy-to-use software that provides real-time currency conversion rates and affordable costs.
Through this deal, Zing’s brand will be prominently displayed throughout Gtech Community Stadium and in club-related content. The brand will also interact with the local community via the club and the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust. Along with this, Zing will also present freebies for the fans to enjoy during the season.
Fran Jones, Brentford’s Commercial Director, said, “Zing is an exciting company with a bright future ahead and we’re so pleased to be working with them as we continue in the 2024/25 Premier League season. Their innovative approach to international payments aligns perfectly with our club’s forward-thinking philosophy. We’re honoured that Zing has chosen to take their first step into sports partnerships with Brentford. We believe this partnership can also create valuable opportunities for engagement within our community, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact we can have together both on and off the pitch.”
Zing’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, James Allan, commented, “I’m proud to partner with Brentford as we’re on similar journeys – Brentford have climbed into and consolidated in the Premier League and, at Zing, we are growing fast in the UK with our market-leading international money app. I’m excited for this partnership to bring worry-free international money to Brentford fans. That means no hidden costs, real-time exchange rates, and spending less on fees.
“I’m also looking forward to seeing how we bring Brentford FC to our Zing members, watch this space for exciting news on giveaways throughout the season! Like the Bees, at Zing we pride ourselves on speed, energy, and commitment to delivering our best. We look forward to working together to elevate both our brands.”
In recent times, the club developed commercial deals with Destination Sport Group, University of West London (UWL), Utilita Energy, Visit Tampa Bay, NATURLI’, and Brunner.
