The Serie A team, Bologna FC 1909 have inked a sponsorship deal with Betway, the online betting and gaming entity.
With this deal, BetwayScores has become the club’s global betting partner.
As a result of this collaboration, the Betway emblem will be displayed on LED boards throughout the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara stadium.
Fan participation is an additional feature, comparable to Betway’s other football partnership agreements. The pair is preparing VIP tickets and’money-can’t-buy’ experiences for team supporters, such as meet-and-greet sessions and opportunity to play on the pitch.
Super Group CEO, Neal Menashe, commented, “We are excited to become the ‘Global Betting Partner’ of Bologna FC 1909, a club known for its illustrious history including seven Serie A titles. With our extensive and varied global sports sponsorship portfolio, we are delighted to once again have an official betting partnership in the world-renowned Italian football league. Our collaboration will strictly follow industry marketing standards and emphasize responsible gambling. We eagerly anticipate supporting Bologna FC in their domestic and European campaigns in the years ahead.”
Christoph Winterling, Commercial and Marketing Director at Bologna FC 1909, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Betway as our global betting partner. This collaboration highlights our club’s commercial strength and our commitment to delivering unique experiences to our supporters. Partnering with a renowned global brand like Betway is incredibly exciting for us, and we are proud to join their esteemed sports portfolio. We look forward to working together to promote responsible gambling and enhance fan engagement.”
The agreement follows Betway’s collaboration with Nottingham Forest. The agreement was also preceded by alliances with West Ham United (WHU), of which the brand is the front-of-shirt partner. Additionally, the brand also has relationships with Manchester City, Arsenal, and other teams.
Front-of-shirt sponsorship is not an option for the group in Italy, unlike in England; however, this will change in the UK after the conclusion of the 2026–2027 season.
In Italy, marketing agreements between sportsbooks and football teams are strictly regulated, and sponsorship deals involving shirts are not allowed. Nevertheless, teams and betting companies have discovered additional options: branding on stadium signage and off-field events.
