Legends League Cricket has been acquired by Blue God Entertainment in a transaction valued at Rs 49 crore, signalling a significant shift in the ownership structure of the retired-player T20 property.

Under the agreement, Blue God Entertainment secures long-term commercial rights spanning media, sponsorship, franchise development and global content distribution. The move positions the company to integrate the league into its broader sports and entertainment portfolio, with a focus on recurring revenue streams and scalable growth.

For Absolute Legends Sports Pvt Ltd, the existing rights holder, the transaction unlocks capital while enabling an asset-light strategy centred on brand stewardship and league expansion.

Vivek Khushalani, Chairman, Absolute Legends Sports Pvt Ltd, said, “Legends League Cricket has been built as a scalable global sports property with strong commercial fundamentals and growing fan engagement. This partnership represents the next phase of its evolution, bringing institutional capital, long-term growth visibility, and enhanced global expansion opportunities for the league. The agreement enables ALSPL to pursue an asset-light, scalable growth strategy while retaining long-term brand leadership of the league.”

Raman Raheja, Co-Founder, Legends League Cricket, termed it a “defining moment for global sports business. By integrating a premier cricket property with public markets, we are creating a new framework for how sports intellectual properties are valued, monetised, and scaled.”

Nitin Khanna, Spokesperson, Blue God Entertainment Ltd, added, “Legends League Cricket offers a powerful growth platform with significant commercial potential. This acquisition strengthens our long-term vision of building a leading sports and entertainment ecosystem.”

Launched as a competitive platform for retired international cricketers, the league has featured former stars from India and overseas across multiple editions. Operating in a franchise-style format, it has staged matches across Indian venues and secured broadcast and digital partnerships to reach domestic and international audiences.

The Rs 49 crore valuation reflects the league’s positioning within India’s mid-tier sports property segment. While operating outside the primary international cricket calendar, the tournament has carved out a niche by leveraging established fan bases and nostalgia-driven engagement.

The acquisition highlights a broader consolidation trend in Indian sport, where media-focused entities are increasingly acquiring and restructuring sports intellectual property to create scalable, investor-backed assets.

Further announcements regarding future seasons, commercial partnerships and broadcast arrangements under the new ownership are expected in the coming months.
