BitSkins, a Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CS:GO) skins store, has joined forces with the Champion of Champions Tour (CCT), a CS world championship that is scheduled to run from 2022 to 2024.
Since the tournament’s announcement in May 2022, BitSkins is the first authorized partner of the Champion of Champions Tour.
Champion of Champions Tour was jointly established by several tournament administrators in the industry that features among other local organizers, FACEIT, Eden Esports, Relog Media, Black Molly Entertainment, and Fantasyexpo. The esports information company GRID Esports leased the tournament.
The Champion of Champions Tour will be launched in July 2022 with a $3.4 million (£2.76 million) prize pool. Regional competitions with Open Qualification rounds shall make up the first stage. The CCT Global Finals LAN competition will take place in 2024 at the end of the circuit.
Every CCT game on its English-language broadcast would feature BitSkins advertising. Additionally, the marketplace would offer exclusive merchandise to circuit spectators. According to a press release, the partnership between CCT and BitSkins shall produce a variety of joint original content with a concentration on ‘actively engaged the community’.
GRID Esports’ COO, Tom Warburton, said, “BitSkins truly understands the interests of esports fans and caters to their needs with a unique offering.
“We are committed to building a sustainable ecosystem across multiple tiers and are thrilled to partner with BitSkins to deliver the best fan experience to Champion of Champions Tour viewers.”
In a press statement, BitSkins CEO Anna Zamorniak-Urbaniak also made clear that CCT’s decision to work with the circuit was influenced by its goal of fostering the development of young talents. The Pinnacle Cup Championship, which was held at the Sparbanken Skåne Arena in Lund, Sweden, earlier this month, was also funded by the skins marketplace.
