Bidding for AFC Asia Cup 2027 delayed to 2022

The bidding process was originally scheduled for the AFC congress in November with India, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Iran in contention for hosting.

The bidding process for the AFC Asian Cup 2027 has been pushed back to 2022 due to ongoing challenges around the Covid-19 pandemic, the Asian Football Confederation has confirmed.

The offering cycle was at first reserved for the impending AFC congress in November 2021, the chief board of trustees said that the choice interaction, which expects heading out to review the offering part affiliations, would be deferred until the following year.
