Betway teams up with VfB Stuttgart as a premium partner

As part of the deal, Betway will obtain the activation rights as well. This would allow the online bookmaker to independently promote and advertise its involvement with one of Germany’s most successful clubs.

Global online gambling company Betway has agreed to join hands with German Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart as the club’s premium partner for a period of 3 years. This is welcomed as one of the flagship deals by the German club.

The announcement of the deal didn’t come as a surprise as both parties were working on reaching an agreement for a long time. In addition, this is a similar deal for Betway, who earlier in the month agreed on terms with two other Bundesliga sides, Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Schalke 04.

Thomas Hitzlsperger, VfB Chairman of the Board of Management, made public his thoughts on the deal and added, “Our partnership has proven successful for both sides, even in a challenging time for football. We are therefore very pleased that Betway is expanding its commitment to VfB and look forward to a long-term collaboration.”

This would allow the online bookmaker to independently promote and advertise its involvement with one of Germany’s most successful clubs. The club based out of Stuttgart has won the German League and DFB-Pokal five and three times respectively.

The aforementioned deal will see Betway’s branding on the LED screens throughout the Mercedes-Benz Arena, the home ground of VfB Stuttgart. The brand will also be advertised via the cam carpets placed on the entrance and sidelines of the pitch. These advertising carpets are a branding innovation as from a specific perspective they look like an upstanding advertising banner.

Upon the announcement of this agreement, Maik Brodowski, Betway’s Head of Marketing for Germany, also caught up with the media and was pretty vocal about his company’s partnership with the Bundesliga club and said, “We’re really excited to be growing our relationship with VfB Stuttgart and are thrilled to become their exclusive premium partner. The team’s potential is there for all to see having finished in the top half of the Bundesliga last season following their promotion. We look forward to sharing the thrill and connecting with the loyal fanbase through various activations over the next few years.”

VfB Stuttgart is scheduled to kick off their league campaign on Saturday, August 15. They will face the recently promoted side from 2. Bundesliga, Furth, in the first game at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
