Betting Surrogates bag numerous sponsorship deals in domestic Indian competitions

The practice of betting is illegal in India and so is its advertising.

The ever-growing Indian sports ecosystem has been witnessing some of the most lucrative and unique sponsorship associations. The commencement of the brand new Indian domestic sports season has seen quite a number of sponsorship deals involving betting surrogates.

The practice of betting is illegal in India and so is its advertising, so these companies have conjured a different path by launching sports news websites. Through those sports websites, the companies have been signing sponsorship affiliations with domestic sports competitions.

With Legends League Cricket (LLC) and Road Safety World Series 2022 already started and Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) and Indian Super League (ISL) commencing in the next two weeks, the betting surrogates have stepped up and inked some fruitful sponsorship deals.

Dafabet, the online betting site, that was founded in 2004 in Makati, Philippines, through its surrogate news website, DafaNews, has signed deals with Tamil Thalaivas, Manipal Tigers, Gujarat Giants and iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans.

The online sports betting platform, Sat Sport, which is powered by Betfair, through SatsportNews signed the dotted lines with the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) team, Ruby Trichy Warriors

AVR Pay, through AVRPay News, has managed to become the associate sponsor of the TNPL unit, Salem Spartans.

Next on the list is Tiger Exch, which has struck a deal with the ongoing Road Safety World Series 2022.

Sky Exch, the leading Indian cricket ID provider, has signed multiple deals with Road Safety World Series 2022, LLC, ACC Women’s T20 Championship, and Salem Spartans through Skyexch.net.

The most popular entity among the lot, the online betting site, Parimatch, through its surrogate news entity, Parimatch News, recently had diverse agreements with teams from different competitions – Rajasthan Warriors, ATK Mohun Bagan, Chepauk Super Gillies, Saurashtra Premier League, Chennaiyin FC, and FC Goa.

The propensity of sports betting companies masquerading as sports news sites for advertising seems to be increasing in near future.
