beIN Sports to cover PSG’s preseason tour to Japan

beIN would broadcast PSG's fixtures against Kawasaki Frontal, Urawa Red Diamonds, and Gamba Osaka.

The upcoming preseason exhibition matches in Japan of the Ligue 1 football powerhouse, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will be televised by the pay-television network, beIN Sports in France.

Prior to their Trophée des Champions match against Nantes on July 31, PSG will take a three-match tour to Japan. A week later the tour, Ligue 1 season kicks off.

PSG, which last month won their tenth French championship, will travel to Japan for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the past two and a half years, the nation has mostly locked itself off to outside sports teams and events, but it is beginning to show indications of opening up. The pandemic had an impact on a number of events, including the 2020 Olympics.

The Tokyo Games were delayed by a year, and Fukuoka in southern Japan postponed hosting the world swimming championships this year until 2023.

beIN would broadcast PSG’s fixtures against Kawasaki Frontal, Urawa Red Diamonds, and Gamba Osaka on July 20, July 23, and July 27, respectively. The beIN Sports 2 channel will telecast just about every game.

In addition to the French league, Ligue 2, beIN also has football rights to the Spanish LaLiga, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga, and the Turkish Süper Lig. In France, beIN also has some UEFA Champions League (UCL) rights.
