BCCI confirms the schedule of phase two of IPL 2021

The BCCI had to put the IPL 2021 on hold after several active members were tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this year.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had to put the Indian Premier League 2021 on hold after several active members were tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this year. The BCCI announced the schedule of phase two and the tournament will resume in the UAE from September 19 and the final will be played on October 15.

The marquee T20 league in May 2021 saw itself coming to a halt halfway through the season due to the worsening situation of the second wave of the Covid-19 virus.

The defending champions Mumbai Indians will take on their arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings in the first game of phase two.

Eight matches will be played in Abu Dhabi, 10 matches in Sharjah and 13 matches will be played in Dubai along with the final.

The IPL has been statistically planned considering the India vs England Test series and the ICC T20I World Cup that will start from October 17.

The fans await phase two of IPL and look forward to supporting their favourite teams ahead of the continuation of the league.
