Bayern Munich reach agreement for RB Leipzig’s Marcel Sabitzer

Sabitzer will also unite with the ex-RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich.

Bundesliga club Bayern Munich has reportedly secured the signing of the Austrian international and RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer. 

Bayern Munich is expected to pay $19 million for Sabitzer, both the clubs are in advanced talks as reported by Bild. 

Sabitzer, who joined RB Leipzig in 2014 went on to score 52 goals in 229 appearances for the club, with his contract running out in June next year, FC Bayern has reportedly secured his services for $19 million. 

Sabitzer will also unite with the ex-RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich who joined the club at the start of the 2021/22 season. 

Apart from Sabitzer, Bayern Munich also signed the French international and RB Leipzig defender Upamecano, who has been performing well under Julian Nagelsmann. 

Bayern Munich currently stands in third place in the Bundesliga table with seven points in three games, they sailed past Hertha Berlin on Saturday as they won 5-0 in the Allianz Arena, thanks to goals by youngster Jamal Musiala, Thomas Muller and a Robert Lewandowski hattrick. 

Lewandowski himself has been enjoying brilliant goalscoring form with seven goals in four games this season. 

The Polish international currently leads the charts with five goals in three Bundesliga games. 

Sabitzer’s arrival at the club will benefit Bayern Munich and fill their much-needed box-to-box midfielder role who can also play on the wings.
