Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEE), one of India’s leading media and entertainment conglomerates, has announced a landmark partnership with Baseball United to broadcast the league’s inaugural season across India.

The collaboration aims to introduce and popularize professional baseball in the country, with a special focus on India’s first professional baseball team, Mumbai Cobras.

Under the agreement, ZEE will provide comprehensive coverage of all 21 games of Baseball United’s Season One, scheduled from November 14 to December 14, 2025. Fans can follow the action on ZEE’s digital streaming platform, Zee5, as well as across its linear channels — Zee Café SD, &Flix SD, and &Pictures HD. Commentary will be available in both English and Hindi, ensuring accessibility for a diverse Indian audience.

The inaugural season features four founding teams: Arabia Wolves, Mid East Falcons, Karachi Monarchs, and Mumbai Cobras. The season opener, a three-game “Subcontinent Series” from November 14 to 16, will see the Cobras face the Monarchs, marking the first-ever professional baseball games between Indian and Pakistani teams. Mumbai Cobras roster includes six Indian players alongside international athletes, giving local fans a homegrown team to support.

Speaking on the occasion, Laxmi Shetty, Head – Advertisement Revenue, Broadcast and Digital, ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., said, “At ZEE, we are committed to bringing world-class international sports to Indian audiences and establishing India as a global platform for sports consumption. With ILT20, we celebrated international cricketing talent, and now we’re expanding that vision by bringing professional baseball to India.

“India has a deeply entrenched bat-and-ball culture, and we are excited to introduce millions of sports fans to the speed, strategy, and spectacle of baseball. With Hindi and English feeds, we are building a foundation for the sport that will entertain fans and foster a passionate new fanbase.”

Kash Shaikh, Chairman, CEO, and Co-Founder of Baseball United, added, “We are very grateful to announce this partnership with ZEE, one of India’s most iconic broadcasters. Their reach, relevance, and reputation make them the perfect partner to connect with fans across this great country,” Shaikh said. “For the first time in history, Indian fans will have their own professional baseball team — with homegrown players to inspire them. We can’t wait for the Cobras to take the field on November 14.”

Baseball United’s inaugural season will unfold at Baseball United Ballpark in Dubai, featuring 21 games over 30 days, culminating in the United Series Championship from December 12 to 14. Supported by 20 Major League Baseball legends, including Mariano Rivera, Barry Larkin, Adrián Beltré, and Albert Pujols, the league seeks to introduce professional baseball to one of the world’s most populous and sports-loving regions.

Beyond live game coverage, Zee5 will feature supplementary content including player profiles, ballpark highlights, “Baseball 101” explainers, behind-the-scenes features, and an original documentary chronicling the league’s formation. The partnership will also include four weeks of cross-platform promotional campaigns across ZEE’s OTT and linear networks, encompassing teasers, advertisements, branded content, and collaborative social media initiatives.

With ZEE’s linear and digital platforms reaching over 800 million viewers across India, the partnership is expected to play a pivotal role in building a new fanbase for baseball, offering Indian audiences both a sport to follow and a home team to cheer for.

This multi-platform collaboration marks a significant step in expanding baseball’s footprint in India, delivering a complete viewing experience while fostering interest in a sport new to the subcontinent.
