Bangladesh-New Zealand Test series to have Walton as title sponsor

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked by ITW sports management and Walton officials.

The Bangladeshi technology company, Walton has been appointed as the title sponsor of the upcoming Test series between Bangladesh and New Zealand. The series will be known as the ‘Walton Test Series.’

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked by ITW sports management and Walton officials. The signing ceremony that took place at Walton’s media office in the capital was attended by Walton’s senior executive director Uday Hakim, ITW’s, Bangladesh Representative Omar Hoque and Chief Marketing Officer Firoj Alam.

As per the agreement, Walton will receive additional ground and media coverage as the title sponsor of the two-match Test series.

Mr Uday Hakim, said, “It is a matter of pride for Bangladesh that Walton is going to sponsor an international tournament. It’s an example that Bangladeshi organizations are now dominating the world arena. Walton is with cricket and will always be. Wherever there is cricket, there is Walton.”

Walton has been a sponsor for almost all major domestic cricket events in Bangladesh. It has also been a regular title sponsor of the international cricket series’. 

The first match, according to the schedule, will commence on January 1, 2022, at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui, while the second game will begin on January 9 at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch.

For viewers in India, the series will be streamed LIVE on the OTT platform, Amazon Prime Video, after the company inked the streaming rights deal with the New Zealand Cricket.
