Ballon d’Or, an annual football award, has announced a sponsorship deal with the South Korean tyre giant, Hankook Tire, for the 2024 edition.

As part of the deal, the brand has become an official sponsor of the 68th annual association football award, which is set to be held on October 28, 2024, at the iconic Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris.

The sponsorship deal involves the logo of the tyre brand on the red carpet and in press areas. Furthermore, digital activities on UEFA and Hankook platforms will help fans form an even stronger emotional relationship with the brand.

Sanghoon Lee, President and COO of Hankook Tire Europe, said, “Our commitment as an official sponsor of the prestigious Ballon d’Or is a consistent continuation of our long-standing, trusting cooperation with UEFA. The partnership is the perfect complement to our international sponsorship strategy, where Hankook’s positioning as a premium brand is always at the forefront. Football is by far the most popular sport in Europe, connecting millions of people, and we are proud to be a part of that.”

Hankook Tyre, founded in 1941 in Seoul, South Korea’s capital city, is a leading global maker of radial tires. Every year, the company manufactures about 97 million tires for use in racing, commercial vehicles, and passenger automobiles.

On the marketing front, Hankook Tire is working on a defined sponsorship strategy based on key agreements at the global, European, and national levels. This approach focusses on high-quality and widely accessible platforms such as the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the UEFA Europa League and Conference League, and Borussia Dortmund (BVB). The objective of these agreements is to have a strong global presence.
