The Bajaj Group has joined hands with the Chennai Open 2025 as the tournament’s platinum sponsor, marking a major boost for Indian tennis and reaffirming the company’s long-term commitment to sports development in the country.
Alongside the sponsorship, Bajaj has partnered with the Tamil Nadu Tennis Association (TNTA) to launch ‘The Next Level’, a youth development initiative focused on identifying and nurturing emerging Indian tennis players.
The programme will begin with four promising young women players and extend support through structured coaching, training camps, equipment, travel assistance, and international exposure.
Designed as a long-term pathway for player development, the initiative emphasises inclusivity and the creation of a sustainable ecosystem for aspiring athletes.
Speaking about the association, Sanjiv Bajaj, Chairman and Managing Director, Bajaj Finserv, said, “Tennis is more than a sport for us. It reflects the Bajaj spirit of fairness, agility, and resilience. Our sponsorship of Chennai Open 2025 brings the excitement of world-class tennis to passionate fans and deepens our connection with them. Beyond the tournament, tennis also has the power to inspire young people. Together with TNTA, we are enabling budding talent to find the right mentorship and opportunity they need to ace the global stage. This is part of our long-standing commitment to empowering youth – both on and off the court.”
Vijay Amritraj, President, Tamil Nadu Tennis Association (TNTA), added, “We are delighted to welcome Bajaj as a Platinum Sponsor for the Chennai Open 2025. Further, TNTA’s partnership with Bajaj for ‘THE NEXT LEVEL’ initiative stems from our shared vision of fostering inclusivity and access to tennis. With Bajaj’s support, ‘THE NEXT LEVEL’ becomes a transformative platform. We are thrilled to see our young players receive the backing they deserve, and we look forward to seeing them evolve into tennis stars in the international circuit.”
The Chennai Open, one of India’s most storied tennis tournaments, continues to play a crucial role in promoting professional tennis and nurturing local talent. Bajaj’s entry as a top-tier partner adds momentum to the event’s revival and signals renewed corporate interest in strengthening India’s non-cricket sporting landscape.
Under the multi-year collaboration, Bajaj and TNTA will expand ‘The Next Level’ programme over the next three years, aiming to reach a broader pool of young athletes across Tamil Nadu and other regions.
The partnership aligns with Bajaj’s broader commitment to youth empowerment and reflects a growing movement among Indian corporates to invest in grassroots sports development.
By combining marquee event sponsorship with youth-focused initiatives, the Bajaj–TNTA alliance aspires to elevate tennis in India from a niche pursuit to a platform for national pride and to create a new generation of champions ready to compete on the world stage.
